• Pileus (Cap): Diameter ranges from 25mm to 65mm. Exhibits a pronounced conic to sub-umbonate morphology in the primordia, often retaining a distinct, slightly pointed or umbonate apex even upon full maturation. The pileus margin is typically decurved, rarely fully expanding to a plane state, giving it a distinct “bell” or “portal” profile.

• Cuticle: Highly hygrophanous, presenting a deep, saturated chestnut-brown to dark sepia tone when hydrated. Upon drying, it shifts dramatically to a pale, lustrous, almost pearlescent golden-cream, often with a metallic sheen near the umbo. The surface is smooth, glabrous, and lacks significant gelatinous pellicle formation, though fine, innate radial fibrils may be observed.

• Lamellae (Gills): Adnexed attachment, closely spaced. Initially pale, silvery-grey, transitioning rapidly to a smoky purplish-grey as maturation proceeds. The edges remain fimbriate and often a shade lighter than the face.

• Stipe (Stem): Typically long, slender, and exceedingly straight (70mm–110mm x 4mm–7mm). The surface is pure white, highly fibrous, and bruises an intense, almost cobalt blue with minimal handling. Cultivation Parameters & Notes

• Substrate: Broadly versatile. Exhibits excellent performance on supplemented hardwood sawdust blocks (1:4 ratio) and sterilized grain spawn. Shows robust bio-efficiency on traditional pasteurized manure-based bulk substrates (e.g., composted horse manure/straw formulation).

• Fruiting Conditions:

  • Temperature: 21°C–24°C (fruit bodies tend to be denser, with higher active alkaloid retention, when fruited at the lower end of this range).

  • Humidity: 88%–93% during pinning and maturation.

  • FAE (Fresh Air Exchange): High FAE requirements are essential. The unique elongated stipe morphology is highly sensitive to CO2 accumulation; inadequate FAE will result in excessive “fuzzy feet” and significantly elongated, spindly stipes (stipe stunting/malformation).
